Open floor plan dilemma

We are completing a 500 sf addition to the main floor which gives us a nice open kitchen-dining-living room, but I'm left with two challenges: 1. What to do with the large dead space in the center of the floor (about 13x13) Should we leave it as open circulation space? and 2. How to plan for living room furniture? Sectional or piece together seating facing each other?

No coat closet?

I'm not sure what you should do. I like a circular table in a large entry, myself.

I would do two sofas rather than a sectional.

We dropped the coat closet in favor of an enlarged laundry/mud room where we tucked in the coat closet. :) Yes, a circular table is a good possibility. thanks.

HI -- Do nothing , that space will be good flow space and on paper it looks like a large empty but it will be fine with nothing in it . You could possibly turn the island and make it a bit bigger because of that extra space if that works for you .
