No quality manufactured substitute will be any less. Several will be more. You don't want any of the Chinese sourced ones in your home. Those are the only ones that would be slightly less.

To get "exactly" what you want, you must pay for "exactly" what you want. Or make an adjustment to what you want. Thus, divide the DIFFERENTIAL $$" between what you want, and what you may settle for..........by the number of years you plan to live in the home. Bet you decide to get "exactly" what you want...........

Far better to do it once and love it, than to "settle' and mourn for the next how many years?

And should you decide that this is THE ONE, make sure you go to the stone yard and view the slabs in person. Even though this is a manufactured product, the samples and slabs can vary, and you wouldn't want a surprise after spending all that money.

You're assuming that it's the material cost that's driving up the price. Your designer is going to mark up whatever you choose the same and the fabricator is going to charge the same no matter the brand. That only leaves you the savings of the material itself, which isn't going to be that much.

I disagree with the blanket condemnation of the Chinese quartz rampant on these pages. It looks and feels identical to me, but I've had no experience or have not heard of any. I do know the guy the Chinese hired to get their plants running and he's amazing.

There's a product called Vico Stone that has some nice marble looks. In my neck of the woods this products pricing starts around a level 1 granite (least expensive) installed. Quality of the product is as good as Caesar Stone.
