If you look at Dave's Garden you see this cycad barely alive in 2011. It never grew in part shade. It wasn't until I moved it into most all day sun that it began to grow after FIVE years of slowly losing leaf after leaf. A lesson for those who are told something wont grow in your climate- maybe you just have to try,and observe and its waiting for you to figure it out.
