It is hard to see, but it looks like packaged in October in South Africa , if so that would be mid spring in the southern hemisphere Perhaps a late ripening Satsuma variety?

Hi Laura totally agree with Ike. My Satsuma's look exactly the same when opened the loose fibers the shape of the segments the size of the fruit and the slightly raised top of the fruit , I bet it was tasty enjoy . I hope one day they will label the variety that is inside the bag as they do with apples I think? It would make or hobby that much more fun .

If you google 'late mandarin varieties south africa' I see Morr, ClemenOr, and Clemengolds shipping in October. Too late for classic Clementines. I don't think there's any way to know for sure without contacting the supplier/importer.
