I dont remember the name of our pebbletec. It was like two shades lighter than the darkest. It was and still is beautiful blue water. But if I were to do it again I'd go with darkest, short of indigo b/c the sun fades that pebbletec rather fast, IMO. Expect that in 5 years I will have baby blue water and not the intense blue I started with. I live in S TX, don't know if that's a factor. I am very happy with the product. Just didn't expect the quick fade.

Does your pool builder have samples? Our PB had samples of his brand of pebble finish. We were able to put them under water in a tub in sunlight to see what they would look like (remember, the finish will change dramatically as depth changes). We chose the finish he recommended, a medium blue. I was really drawn to the white pearly finish, but he told me one woman chose this finish despite his recommendation not to do it and she ended up really disappointed. The white finish really showed dirt. We're very happy we followed his advise!
