Sorry, good luck. LOL! I had a dog that would eat anything she could put in her mouth .... she did it until she passed at 13. I just kept things out of her way.

He's never eaten dirt before, and he carefully picked around the soil to get the moss. He is a grass eater and always has been, so I'm guessing it's a similar flavor. :-) I put river rocks on the soil surface and sprayed with bitter apple. So far, so good.

Just a reminder that Bitter Apple needs frequent re-application. There's an easy home made version:

Won't the bitter apple spray kill the plant. The homemade version has vinegar...that will most likely kill a plant won't it?

It is mostly sprayed on the river rocks (they're pretty large) and the edges of the ceramic planter. I plan to water it with a watering can and try to avoid the rocks. We'll see. I hope not.

I sprayed Grannick's Bitter Apple on my Dracena and it didn't hurt it at all. You are just going to mist a light spray. My cat decided to munch it. I kept it misted every day for a few days, then about every third day. I don't have to spray it at all now. He won't even go near it. I haven't used the home made or any other brand, but this one was great. I also sprayed the mulch on top of the soil and the other plants around it for good measure.

arkansas girl, that's a good point as vinegar is supposed to be toxic for plants. My neighbor sparingly uses the homemade version to save $$ and her plants are flourishing. Perhaps some are resistant.
