Austin is really big sweet and juicy, but I think it really depends a lot on personal preferences. All pomegranate varieties are good when they're at their optimal peak of freshness and ripeness. I'm not saying they're all the same, but timing is probably more important than variety, I'd say. And with several selected varieties you can extend the harvesting season a month or two. Angel Red is the best early ripening one.
