Discolored leaves can be caused by a fungus, a nutrient deficiency in the soil, or a prolonged period of rainy weather. If you can post a photo of the leaves that would help identify the problem. Hi Cecily im from south africa. The whole year was dry and hot 25 to 35 degrees celcuis. No rain at all. But i do water the 2 to 3 times a day could it have the same effect as constent rain? I wil try to post a foto with this comment ☺

That looks like your rose is shedding old foliage - nothing to be concerned about.

A local rose farmer seem to think its black spot (swart vlek) we are in the a month into spring now. Would a rose shed foliage so soon?

I agree with Seil. If you wish, you can tidy up the plant by removing these failing leaves, the ones that are turning yellow.

Mulching the roses will help conserve moisture and keep the root zone cool. I could't tell from yr photo if you had something laid over the soil.

Thanks for the advise i will try tidy up the plant and put some more mulch in the pot. This is one of my faster growing bushes so it all make sense now. Thanks
