It does to me also. Does it normally have more white stripes? The coloration will vary according to the weather here. FOJ is also very prickly (thorny).

I don't know if it normally has more white, but it is chilly here and all of the roses on the bush were mostly red. It is pretty prickly.

Also, I don't think it is a climber. It is a free standing bush in the Demo Garden, and I doubt that the Rosarian would keep it clipped back.

It looks like FoJ grown in the Southeast in full sunlight in hot conditions. The subtle stripes argue against it being Sublimely Single/Altissimo which I've also grown and never seen the stripes.
Come cooler weather with clouds, it should become more white.

The height may have been controlled by pruning in previous years or just a need for better soil, fertilizer and water.

So FoJ darkens with heat and sun? It has been cool here for the past few weeks, though it was a pretty hot summer. The plant is growing in full sunlight, and we are definitely the Southeast! ;>

It doesn't look like FoJ to me. My FoJ is much more thorny w/ a lot more striping.
