Moro Orange Funny Leaves

I remember reading something about this type of leaf being common for a Moro Blood Orange Tree to have some different leaves but cannot find the thread. Is this a mutation of some sort? The branch is attached to the trunk of the tree well above the graft.

That's rootstock that should be cut off.

Yeah, looks like trifoliate. Check from where it originates.

Thanks Laura and Paws. Had to put some gloves on and dig thru the foliage to find it. Many thorns on the young Moros. Branch was attached to the trunk about an inch above the soil line. Not much left of the leaves on the branch. Only a little piece of trifoliate leaf.

Based on that it sounds like rootstock...I'd cut it off.
