Are you allowed to paint the walls and if so, would you want to paint them?
How about colours? What colours and what kind of style do you like?

As Jayme Hobbs suggested: you can definitely pull the bed more towards the center of the wall.
Can you also post photos of the other sides of your room?
And it would be nice if you can give us the measurements of your room too.

yes i deffinatly want to paint my room, i wanted a desk but i dont think itll be much use since i dont study so maybe just a nice place i could sit comfortably read some magazines and my closet is small so i do want a dresser for extra storage and other than that im open to any ideas, thak you all for wanting to help me. i just measured my room and i know its not the best blueprint but it shows the measurements

I love your green curtains- can you get more for the other window? If you can't- use one panel for each window- tie it back and get some wood blinds. Then go gray for the bedding and walls. You have room for a nice long dresser which can also be used for a TV if need be. Hit the rummage sales and find a deal and paint it a fun color. If you are near an IKEA get some floating shelves. Also it's a great place to get a cozy chair.

you like those curtain? lol i was thinking of taking them down. i acctually had a mid-section for that but i took it down because it looked too cluttered on my small window.. maybe i could put that in the other window. its like see thru material and has leaves and stuff on it. that room looks great ill see if i can find similar bed sheets at bedbath&beyond, thank you for the idea!
and someone had said to move my bed.. but i like it there because i can look out at the stars when im sleeping

How about moving the bed centering it on the 10 ft. wall by the closet. You can see the stars from that window too, right? Then use the vacated space to plan a lounging area.

no because i wont be right under the window, not only that but i dont want the bed to be the first thing you see when you enter the room.. i also feel like if you center the bed itll just make some wasted space on both sides as apposed to putting it in some corner youll have more room to put other things. the previous owner had the bed where u said and it lookd horrible and much smaller than what it is

How odd. When I sleep the only possible stars I could see are in my dreams, not through the window. :p

The room will never look good, nor feel right with the bed situated as it is now. Sorry.

Okay, so it's a good size room.

If you prefer the bed in front of that window, I'd still suggest you move it a little away from the window. It does look better and it's just more practical if you can walk around the bed. But hey... it's your room, you can do whatever you like :-)

I like what Kelly suggested. She just loves green and there's nothing wrong with that, but I'm still going to show you different options to give you some ideas.

Have mercy. Frishta, I had the same thought in the placing of my own bed, and as I'm looking at your dimensions, I'd do almost the same thing...if you angle your bed (headboard to the left corner), you can see out the window, and have room for a small table just below the window. Don't worry about centering the bed -probably wouldn't work (!) and isn't necessary.
You might also try raising the green curtain rod, and extending it, allowing the curtains to take up that whole wall (during the day). It will make your window appear larger.

Okay, so... when you really want to keep your bed pushed right up to the window, I suggest you go for blinds and not for long curtains.

Do you have a favourite colour? Or a painting/poster/fabric you absolutely love? You can go from there with choosing your colours, your fabrics...
Ikea is a great source for inexpensive lights, blinds, chairs and other furniture. But don't only shop at Ikea. Shop around in other stores too. Bargains can be found everywhere.

In that case go for roman blinds on your windows instead of curtains. They wont interfere so much then with the bed.

My computer is slow today.. good ideas. Target, thrift stores and Craig's list may be of help, too.

Center bed on wall add end tables with lamps on each side. Your bedding is colorful that's good. Remove curtains add a pleated blind in white. Take measurements of inside window to lowes they will cut to size for free. Length is standard window. Finish the look with to the floor panels on a black iron rod. Extend rod 6" out on each side. Panels. Can be color from your bedding solid color. A picture over bed. Ikea has some nice things, low price. Check world market for art, lamps. Also lamps and plants cheap at Ikea. Just doing these few things will give you a finished look. Never push furn to one side of room. Center.

Do not like green curtains at all pick a blue from bedding. Like I said before, on blind can get at lowes a pleated shades, that is black out. If need to keep lite out in morning.

On opposite wall put a small dresser. With art work big over it. Bamboo plants from Ikea can feel in space for small price.

Cover all windows with same blinds and panels. The rod tou have will work with new panels.

wow so much good ideas! carolins, i love the energy house pic it looks so clean and crisp, and i dont like blinds so i think i will push the bed alittle to make room for a night stand. Travisinteriors, i like the idea about the small dresser and bamboo plants i can picture this room comming together! :D you guys are awesome, and i think on the 11.4 ft wall beside my closet ill put a vanity table and a cute little chandelier instead of the ugly round thing on my ceilling. i also thought that making my curtains take the whole wall was such a smart idea itll make my window look bigger!

what do you guys think of colour scheme though? i dont know what colour i should paint my walls, should i do what kelly said and paint my room grey and get grey bedding (because its not too late to return my bedsheets)

If you love the bedding, please keep it. You are the one living in the space and you must love it. I may be way off base with this, but what about a silver for the walls? Then pop in aqua and lilac colors.

Try craigslist and ebay....sometimes you can find them at goodwill, too. Depending on the area you live in you can find them at flea markets and 2nd hand furniture stores.

Sometime you can get lucky with paints at Lowes or Homes Depot by asking if they have any "whoops" cans; these are custom colors that were returned and now sell at a fraction of the cost.

What if you placed the headboard up against the windows so you could still see the stars? You would have room to thr lrft of the bed for a nightstand and lamp, and that would leave you with the ell to fir up as a sitting room? A dresser could go on the long wall across from the bed. Then you could dress the window above the headboad to coordinate with your bedding, and the sitting area window to coordinate with your seating pieces.

btw guys i bought a dresser, a couch and new curtains, i centerd my bed on the big window and i got a rug, it looks great but its not done yet i will paint and invest in some art work and new lighting and im done
ill provide new pictures when its finnished . thank u all for helping
