'Head over Heels'

Anyone seen this rose out there for sale? It was supposed to have been released in 2014 but I heard they had some disease problem (crown gall???) with it in the production beds so put on hold. It is listed on the Easy Elegance web page as one of their roses so I'm guessing they are planning on releasing it at some point, but when?

Available on Ping Lim's website, but minimum quantity is 5 as a bundle. Scroll down to find it. http://www.rosesbyping.com/the-roses Pretty rose! Sue

Wirosarian, I have emailed Ping Lim's contact address in recent past inquiring about a single purchase of KISS ME. This rose is listed as very fragrant. I am a sucker for fragrant roses. Lim's SWEET FRAGRANCE is a fantastic rose in my garden, but only moderately fragrant to me. If KISS ME is a fragrant, pink version of SWEET FRAGRANCE, then bingo! No nursery around me nor online source that I could find carries KISS ME, hence the inquiry I sent to Lim's.

I was informed that I could purchase a SINGLE 2 gal. KISS ME from them, and have it shipped. I didn't follow through because it came out to almost $40.00. This is bit steep to me for one rose, not that I felt I was being overcharged, just more than I could afford. Also, I never saw or smelled KISS ME in the flesh, just photos and written descriptions, so spending so much on a possible dud kept me from getting it.

Contact them about HEAD OVER HEELS and see if you can get one from them (it would probably be container grown), or ask them to recommend a mail order source where you can purchase less than five HEAD OVER HEELS. They should know which online source sells singles of their roses.

Thanks for the info about ordering Lim roses, Moses. I agree that $40 comes out a bit steep, and I find that our local Lowe's cycles through a wide variety of the Easy Elegance roses at about $20 for a 5-gallon bucket each year. I'm so hoping that Funny Face becomes available soon! Thanks for the website, Vasue! I was surprised to see that I have all but 10 of the 33 Easy Elegance roses listed there and they have almost uniformly grown fantastically well for me. Paint the Town and Yellow Submarine are the only two that have died from healthy plants, and they just might not be hardy in the zone 4 spot I had them.

Oh, and I was totally amused on this website to see even Ping Lim call Sunrise Sunset a "compact grower" at 2-3'. Mine is at least 12-14' wide, though only 2' high, and it has absolutely swamped a 6 year old Illusion climber on the large arch that was fortunately behind where I had planted Sunrise Sunset. Neither remotely compact or (sadly) ever blooming, but a reliably hardy and prolific rose when it blooms.
