No. Lonicera x brownii Dropmore Scarlet is a hybrid and is not the type Honeysuckle vine which is invasive in N America. That's Lonicera japonica.

Among others :-) Also invasive across much of the midwest and east coast are Lonicera maackii, morrowii and tatarica. But Lonicera japonica is the primary invasive of the vining species.

GG - I did purposely specify 'Honeysuckle vine', rather than just saying Honeysuckle. I didn't know there were other vining Loniceras which are invasive in N America. Can you tell me the others so I can store that info away in the memory banks? Thanks.

Floral - didn't intend to confuse :-) L. japonica and all of its cultivars are the only invasive species of honeysuckle vine in North America AFAIK. I only amended your post to add the other invasive species as many folks do not realize that honeysuckles come in shrub forms as well as the vines. And in fact the invasive shrub forms are often mistaken as vines due to their lax, sprawling growth habit.
