We're looking to build an approximately 1700-1800 sq ft house and would like to find floor plans that avoid design pitfalls, like "barrier island".... Can anyone point us in the right direction? We like craftsman style and ranch style layouts, but we are brand new to this and would greatly appreciate any help. Any book recommendations? Web sites? Designers of ergonomic floor plans? Help?
