Could you use this one? 5 point star

Sharon, I do a pieced five pointed star that includes Y-seams so that might not be what you want? I don't have a tutorial to show you though. I found the pattern in my EQ6 program and just figured it out. I don't have a photo loaded into this site, but if you want to see it I can go back and download it.

Beverly, When I did a search, both of those patterns came up. I thought I'd try them today. On the down side of these star patterns, they recommend starting with a square that is 2" larger than the finished block. That's a lot of waste.

Rita, You're right, Y seams are not for me.

Sharon, with the first one, I wonder if it would work to draw the star on paper then add 1/4" to the pieces before cutting from fabric?

Well, I completely forgot I was going to try these stars today and finished a quilt top up to the borders. Donna, I think you're on to something! I like that idea a lot!!! Thank you!
