thoughts/suggestions sit/stand desk

I am contemplating getting a sit/stand desk for my office.

Background: I work at home. I work in IT Project Management; two monitors, lots of MS Project, data file dumps spreadsheets/analysis and lots of very long conference calls at which I am looking at documents, data, and/or mainframe systems.

My current desk configuration is counter-like configuration, 25 x 97. 24" of that is printer set up, 60" is always actively used, 17" is stuff; radio, files I have pulled and not returned, kids/husband inputs waiting for me to action in some way.

I was just mulling the ideas of the sit/stand desk. My office is not making me happy. I dont like that my back is to the entry, standing some of the day would be healthier, etc. So I was thinking of doing something and one of the things was a sit/stand desk. Also thinking of changing configuration of space. Then, through an ID friend got a connection to a used Herman Miller sit/stand desk for less than $500.

Without really planning my office redo, should i just grab the deal? I hate rushing..... I like to plan. Need your advice.
