Bedding IMO drives the decor for the space as for the window next to the wall a roman shade is probably the best choice when doing a guest room i always look a t pictures of awesome B&Bs or hotel rooms to get ideas

i like your idea of a mirror. do you like the vintage/shabby chic style? cause i could totally see this room all white, i think it would be adorable. i would even leave the shutters, i think they add to the rooms charm.

im no good at photoshop, but i can see this type of mirror above the bed, to me it adds to the other two quirky window shapes. paint out the entire room white, white bedding. if the bed is in good shape dont paint it, its so cute.

Treat both windows the same...hang rods at the same height and use long panels. A sunburst mirror or a grouping of mirrors over the bed would look pretty :)

I feel like that window is so cool I wouldn't want to cover it. Where is the door in relation to the bed? Maybe you could move the bed so that the foot is pointing towards the closet doors?

You totally need to fake the windows like they don't exist as they are so odd together. Hang rods above the windows to cover the entire windows completely and get some beautiful matching drapery.

paint the wood trim(I can't believe I'm saying that!) try curtains on the wall for privacy/light or window film to keep the focus on the cool windows.

That lil window is adorable for guest room....try a mirror with no defined edges ....like a big sunburst mirror ...maybe try hanging drapes ...two panels each , land matching nightstand and lamps will help u with symmetry

You will never be able to get full light control to prevent light coming from the side of those windows and hitting the sleeper in the eye. If you rotate the bed so that the foot points towards the closet, the sleeper can turn away from the windows. I also think it would look better in the room.

It also gives you more options in dealing with drapes and decor.

Here's pics from the rest of the room and more thoughts and info for you: I do plan on 2 matching night stands and lamps. Bed will be painted-it's a mess up close. I plan on using the dresser w attached mirror in room along with that chair(will get recovered). I want to get a bench for the end of the bed for luggage. It really is impossible to hang curtains on the larger window and I'm not concerned w covering the smaller. Really liking the idea of a gallery wall between the 2 odd windows and the matching stands and lamps to balance.

Just moved things around, what do you think of this? Would still do gallery wall, nightstands and lamps. Would need to paint the dresser since the color looks so bad between orangey closet doors. The space beside the chair would put a bench of some kind for luggage since it wouldn't fit at the end of the bed.

How about moving the dresser next to the doorway? Then maybe getting rid of the white thing under the window. I don't think it adds anything to the room and just emphasizes all the different colors and wood tones going on. I do think the new position for the bed works. A mirror on the wall between closet doors would perhaps be nice for guests. Up to you but with a chair I don't know that you also need a bench.

I will try the dresser on the other wall. I did kind of like it between the closets, thinking it balanced the weight of the bed on the opposite wall-but maybe the closets are balance enough?? And the weight of the dresser on the other wall would be balanced by the windows/gallery wall. Probs wouldn't paint it if moved it there too.

I know what you mean about the bench/chair. But I wouldn't want luggage on the chair and though it'd be nice to no t have to put suitcase on the floor. I'll give more thought

heres what i did with my guestroom that had vintage furniture.

I have 2 of these for guests to use for their luggage.

I like that they can be folded up and put away when not in use and guests can just put them wherever they want in the room.

What a lovely, big room-thanks for showing me! The beds are darling and stand out and are enhanced painted. Very nice! I have considered luggage stands like that as well. And I like the thought that they could just put them where they want. Have seen some at antique stores-where did you get yours? Thank you!

I think could make the pink walls work and use some of the green shown in pic below for the bedskirt or nightstands etc. Pretty much switxh green and pink in pic below. White bedding could calm things down a bit. Your room has a cottagey feel...very cute. Does a room like this appeal to you at all?:

I made this because I wanted to show you that I don't think you need to do much to the room. I'd get a mirror for above bed, chandelier, bedding, lamp (current one you have might work), and wider nightstand on opposite side of bed than it is now. Would keep everything pretty light. I'd remove the mirror (if it can be removed) over the dresser on other side of room and replace w art that is the same size as the mirror. If you can't remove mirror, then maybe art over bed. Book and/or flowers on nightstand, and nothing on other walls. Don't overcrowd.

The biggest challenge for your wall behind bed is the low headboard. You can trick the eye with a fabric swag that will distract and become more of a focal point for your room. I will find some photos to show what I mean.

Don't look at the style per se, but notice the swag over the large window and imagine that type look over your bed. Your bed isn't as wide and if done with a filmy fabric would look very nice with a cottage look. Then on the other windows you could repeat the look with the shapes of those windows. Here are some examples.These are ties, but you could use ribbons and just glue or staple them to the pointed window and let them drape down. A pretty shawl also makes a window treatment.

If you have a bedspread or large piece like this, you could create an interesting look as well. Just use your imagination and stay away from standard treatments! Notice this bed has a low headboard too. I think this is a stunning look while at the same time is simple! Maybe you could even make one yourself??

Having the bed opposite the closets looks great. I would have the dresser on the left wall entering the room. It just looks more spacious somehow. Art between the closets to admire from the bed.
Love your quirky windows, they add charm. Love your mirrored dresser as is, leave the mirror on it, it will reflect light across from your windows.
Wondering if a swing arm curtain rod would help on the large window if you want light control.
I'm sure you can work with the pink walls, everybody looks better in pink light. ;)

Bed placement for guests is one that allows the most easy in and out. The headboard should also face the door, so the headboard in this room is best between the two cute windows. Dresser between the closets work, because you don't want the mirror facing guests in bed. So, those are my humble thoughts. One more thing, best Feng Shui is for headboard to face doorway. Safety.

Yes I agree w Flo. I suggested trying bed in different location when I didn't know where the door was. Knowing where the door is, I like the bed in between the windows.
And yes, I suggested moving the mirror because the mirror should not be facing you while you sleep. That is weird.

Actually, I thought the bed wasn't supposed to face the doorway because that was how the dead are carried out?

Leemiller...it's best to have the bed perpendicular to either the left or right wall when walking in the room. Facing the door would be having the bed perpendicular to the wall that is directly in front when walking in the door (in this case where the closets are).

I ran across an interesting idea for your room! Now don't look at the "style" per se but the concept. It is a "slipcover" for the headboard!! I have never seen this, but I can imagine a great way to enhance your bed! I think you could make one of these and extend the height by making a kind of "trim edge" that has a internal backing material so it would stand up nicely. Could be fun!

This one simply followed the shape of the existing headboard. What I am thinking is adding a trim edge at the top. It could be a ruffle, or just an addition, almost like a "collar" on a blouse. Could be a trim material of some kind. Just wanted to pass along!
