Since you have already accessorized with green from the artwork perhaps you could pull from the light blue. The rug could have a very subtle pattern of you do not want to go solid. Many options came up when I googled light blue rugs. Another note: since your walls are very tall, you might consider putting your artwork in bigger frames and lowering
to about 6 inches above your sofa.

I would do a more colorful rug if you like your artwork. If you don't like the artwork I would keep your current rug and chose artwork that is more monochromatic like the rest of the room.

Your current rug is fine. Perhaps get a big ceramic bowl for your coffee table in one of the "hot" colors from the art work and a lamp in the corner in the same hot color. A few colorful earthier accessories around the room would tie the pictures to your furnishings. And yes, lower the art several inches. If you must get a rug for whatever reason, you could look for something like this:

What about an overdyed rug, love the different blue one with a touch of green. I think you need a bit of depth in colour not pattern to balance with your great artwork. See if you can trial a few first

loved all comments, thanks. I will lower the artwork. I really love the Jazzfest posters. The current rug is pretty old and stained(it just doesn't show in the pictures. Also love the idea about pulling a hot color as a coffee table accessory . will post pics after I do this. please keep the suggestions coming, I just hit a point where I have no more ideas.
