Hmm, in U.S., like but not love but that wasn't an option. And will only use one if I can secure it to the inside with ties (none of those clips they sell at Bed Bath & Beyond ever work). Otherwise it always ends up shifting around so you cannot get the warm comforter over you in the middle of the night, only light fabric.

I had a whole thread where I discussed how to secure a comforter in a duvet - mine has ties on the duvet corners and loops on the comforter corners and that works pretty well. For a duvet cover that we already had and my daughter took to college, I sewed ties and loops myself, and not just at the corners but along the sides. (As far as I know this is working).

I will never buy another duvet cover that doesn't have built in ties though. I get the love/hate thing here.

A nice thing about a good duvet is that you can do without a top sheet or other blankets -- you just snuggle up under the down. Great in a cold season, easy to make the bed, not too bad to change duvet cover to wash. But it's a different feel than the usual mound of sheets and blankets...

If you see one you love, get it. Just use it as a cover, don't have to put the comforter in. We don't put the down piece in until it gets cold.

Duvets are the way to go!
