Painting rocks makes it look like the owner could not afford to remove or replace them.

If you add more grout to the stones before painting, you might be able to make it look like your photo. :-)

Thank you! I agree with adding the grout. I'm getting a quote from the painter to spray it. If it's not too expensive, I think I'll go with that option and if I still hate it, I'll have it removed. I don't think it can look any worse that it already does.
