Yes this product has variation in it, the photos you see online are true to its color. Unless you purchase a box you will not know the full color range from 1 or 2 samples.
Even I have trouble getting samples although I am a dealer, go figure.

I've had 1 unhappy customer but that was due to a sample board misrepresenting the color range. Coretec worked with us on the claim and more product was brought in to replace the lightest board throughout the install. Great group of people to work with, a little slow at times but non the less great company.

If there are completed jobs near you I would suggest you ask to see them vs purchasing a box.

Several of their floors have huge color variation, the darker oaks specifically. If you don't care for the variation, they have other colors to choose from that are much less so.

The USFloors room pics are pretty realistic from the plank variation standpoint. (The colors, not so much). I was looking for limited variation, reviewed the USFloors pics to find which colors were the most consistent from plank to plank, and then went and checked those colors out in a showroom.

@bmockler, OMG , I've read so many of your posts under the Ayone Used Coretec thread If I remember correctly you have cats, as do I , How have the floors
held up with cat litter? ie spillage, tracking, Have you used any
specific throw rugs, door mats, mat under litter boxes? Appreciate any

I found someplace that carried some in stock. Some lumberyards carry a few colors in stock and sell them at a discount. That's where I was introduced to the product in the first place. We will use that color for our sons room. But we ended up deciding on the Carolina Pine for the rest of our house.

Hi Linda....such cute cats! I also have a soft spot for colorpoints, and currently have 8 cats (about 5 too many, sigh). Not uncommon when you are involved in cat rescue though.

Unfortunately 2 of them have pushed me to my wit's end with urine issues, but I think I have FINALLY figured out the trigger and am hoping to get that resolved ASAP. That said, Coretec has been a HUGE life saver for me from the bad cat standpoint, and it has held up beautifully over the last 2 years.

My litter boxes are all on tile (bathroom, laundry room, etc) so I have not had any issues with the type of litter mats I have been using. My favorite litter mat is the Blackhole Litter Mat....not cheap, but is the best I have found to limit litter tracking. (Link below) You can even put a puppy pad inside it if desired. While it does help limit the tracking, I do vacuum the Coretec right outside those rooms frequently to help limit any Coretec damage from those little pieces of rock. If you are worried about the litter mat possibly staining the Coretec (if you have a light color), you could put a thin piece of cardboard under the litter mat. I have a large heated vinyl pet mat, and I have a piece under that just to be on the safe side.

After living with the Coretec for 2 years, I have had zero scratches even though I use the beater bar on my vacuum daily (required to get the fur up into the vacuum) and the Hoover FloorMate frequently. I have had some rubber cups stain my floor (which is a lighter color), but fortunately it is not that noticeable. And one dent from when I dropped a heavy picture and the corner hit the floor right on the point.

As far as rugs go, I have rugs or mats outside all my doors to limit dirt tracked in. I currently have one wool rug in my office, and chose to forgo a rug pad just to ensure there was no staining.

PROS: Coretec has been a huge stress reducer from a cat standpoint. Even when I have found an older urine spot it has cleaned up beautifully. Same with cat barf, sigh.

CONS: You definitely have to vacuum far more frequently, for both dirt and fur tumbleweeds. But you would have that with any hard flooring and no carpet.

FYI that I clean up any cat messes with OdoBan Citrus spray or the OdoBan pH Neutral floor cleaner (though US Floors recommends the Hillway brand).

As far as buying one box, I found that my local store was still going to charge me shipping, and their price was higher than I was able to get online. GRRR.

Looking to purchase Coretec Plus Blackstone Oak. The reviews I found are mostly positive. We decided on this versus laminate due to the dogs. Does anyone have any recent recommendations on where to purchase for the best price? I need about 600 sq feet.

@lindacurly - Yes, I have found the pictures to be true of real product color variation. The colors themselves are not always "color correct," but it's a good indication of the variability.
