I'm looking to purchase a house and have a question I hope someone here with pool experience might be able to answer.

The house has an in-ground pool and spa. The homeowner had a solar heater, but that was taken down and a new roof was put on. We saw this thing next to the pool stuff I had originally thought was an A/C unit (I've never had a pool don't laugh!) but was told it was the pool heater that was broken and would be getting removed.

So my question is, since I doubt, but plan to ask anyways, if they will replace the heater... can a pool that originally had a solar heater be replaced with either a gas or electric one? With a new roof, if I bought the house, I'd hate to void the warranty on it.

I've never had a pool before and it looks nice. We're in central Florida so the pool without a heater wouldn't be bad, but what good is a spa without one? Thanks for any advice y'all can give me.
