I had a ton of earwigs this year eating all of my outdoor citrus plants. I used Sluggo plus. The pellets contain spinosad which the earwigs eat. After that, they were nearly gone. It seems to be safe for bees because you don't spray anything, it is all in pellet form.

Are they crawling all over your pots and on the soil Stefan?

If they are, Diatomaceous Earth can work wonders! You can sprinkle that stuff on the top of your pots and powder the sides of them. They will die in time, trust me.

I would try the diatomaceous earth first to see if that will work to avoid the chemicals, but if it doesn't, I'd go with Brett's suggestion. If they are inside the dirt, the DE may not work though...

I have never seen an ear wig but my doctor gave me drops that I apply 2 drops each ear 3 times daily. It took about a week to clear my problem up.

I never thought about diatomateous earth. That would have been much cheaper than the drops and the doctor visit. The doctor never told me that this could spread to my citrus trees.

Try this. Take a roll of newspaper, or a piece of pvc pipe, spray with water on the inside for moisture, then lay the tube horizontally on the potting mix overnight. Early the next morning, tip the tube into a bucket of water. If there were earwigs, they will seek refuge in the damp tube. A few nights of this, and the problem should be largely solved.

I also use Sluggo Plus if the problem is severe.
