I think a light grey too - layer those textures on! I have pretty much the same bedroom scheme and I can definitely recommend.

Not a paler version of the blue on opposite wall etc?

It would be good to see first your room before giving any advice. The colour depends on how much natural light it has, what kind of window, door ect...Can you upload some pictures?

Hi Melanie. I probably wouldn't go for a light blue. Knowing which way the room faces in terms of light would really help but farrow and ball purbeck stone could potentially work or cornforth white. You can have them colour matched. Or you could try an off white with warm tones or with blue undertones (depending on the light!). You could also paint all walls and introduce an accent colour. What's the actual blue paint colour?

Hi Melanie, You have different floor then the John Lewis's picture. Actually the beige walls look quite good combined with light oak flooring. I would get some light carpet, it could be even white and get rid of tv and the mirror (not recommendable in bedrooms from feng shui perspective :) I'm not sure if dark blue walls would feet with the floor you have.

It might be a good idea to look on John Lewis website for dark blue wallpaper they send samples and may send paint sample too. I'd keep ceiling as light as possible white or off white, you don't want to close it in. It will look great.

Thank you Lynne, so are you suggesting blue on the other walls too? Rather than just the back main wall?

I would choose a light blue for the other walls, I think it would be too much to have all dark walls, and it will make the room seem much smaller. Remember blue is a cold colour, so you may need a warm colour for accessories ie lamps, bed linen, curtains and rugs.

Hi Melanie no I think if you are doing dark blue and wallpaper I'd stick to same colour as ceiling, white or off white then you could introduce lighter blue or grey into the scheme with soft furnishings. You could see if John Lewis do fabric to match a wallpaper for blind and cushions etc

That blue seems very similar to No.253 Drawing Room Blue (Farrow & Ball). On the picture below Im suggesting 2 shades for the remaining walls. On the left No.277 Dimpse and on the right Calluna No.270 (all Farrow and Ball). Whatever color you pick I would have the same on the ceiling. You can add patterns and movement on the items that you will change more frequently such as curtains, duvets and cushions.
