Fireplace and TV Layout. Help! We're stumped.

My contractor has built fireplace framing at 60"W, projected out from wall. Modern linear fireplace is 14x36". Here's the drawing I did of proposed plan to scale. Problem: I want to put up to a 60"TV on top (54"W), but the dear husband wants to put a 65"TV there (58.4"W), which does not leave hardly any margin on the sides. How do we solve this dilemma? He wants the bigger TV, I want it to look more balanced.
Advice please?!?
