Bathroom vanity drawers

Could you tell me how the bathroom vanity drawers open? Is the drawer under the sink a special shape to accommodate the plumbing?

    That middle drawer is actually U-Shaped and formed around the lavatory bowl and p-trap. The drawer below it is a fully functioning standard drawer. The large drawers to the left and right have a smaller drawer within the large drawer.
