I am wondering how easy it is to match granite later - maybe one of the pros knows. Quartz has less variability because it is man made, but there is always the chance it will get discontinued. A granite slab from today might not look like the same granite from a slab cut in a few years.

I have similar cabinets and have a quartz on my perimeter that I really like - pics in my "my pics" idea book. I am not sure if it would go with your present counters.

Look into getting the present counter recut. There is a guy on the Kitchen forum in the gardenweb that recuts counters. You might try asking over there.
