My Adenium Won't Stop Blooming... :/

I say that like it's a bad thing, HaHa! I repotted the two adeniums that I have back in the spring. Someone on here warned me about using pots with a smaller diameter around the rim, but I didn't expect them to grow as big as they have. Plus, I pretty much left them outside to bake in the hot sun all summer long. I watered them, but that was about it. I finally took a closer look and noticed that the caudices have just about wedged themselves into the pots. When they finally decide to go dormant, I plan on trying to unpot them. If I have to, I'll break these nice pots. I hope it doesn't come down to that, but I'm afraid that it will.

My other adenium still has leaves, but no flowers. Just this one. Both are slowly losing their leaves, but this one just keeps blooming. So I let it. It has been warmer than usual this fall, and all of my plants are still outside soaking up that autumn sunlight. I brought this one inside so that I could snap a couple of photos and share them. Nothing special about it, other than it has grown like crazy and keeps sending out more flowers. It's also sending out more branches from the base. I'm not terribly experienced with growing these, but they seem to love thriving on my neglect, lol.

It's hard to tell, but it's leaning slightly forward. the caudex has grown enough that it's pushing the whole plant up out of the pot. I've thought about pruning it, but it's branching on its own, as well as sending out more branches from the caudex. I can definitely see why these plants are so addictive. I've received several compliments, as well as an offer to buy them from me, from my neighbors.

Gorgeous plant!

I have a couple that are pushing themselves up as well, but as they're just going into dormancy I'll wait with repotting until spring. Same for the pruning.

I live in Little Rock, AR. Yesterday was 84°F, but now it's finally starting to cool down some. The nighttime temps have been hovering around 50°F.

I found this photo I took of it back when I repotted it this past spring. I didn't realize how much it has grown until I compared it to this...

I had to remove all of the decorative glass because there just wasn't any more room for it. some of the pieces were pressed up against the pot.

That pot is not going to be very willing to let it go when it's time to move to a bigger one.

But you've found the secret to proper adenium care!

Because the pot narrows slightly toward the top? Instead of having the same diameter top to bottom or widening slightly at the top?

Yeah, they're wedged in there pretty good. I love those pots that they're in, but not as much as I love my adeniums. Oh well, I'll know better next time. I didn't expect them to get that big; at least not yet. I figured that they would be fine for at least one season's growth. I had to bring them in last night because it got down into the low 40's. Gotta love Arkansas' sporadic weather. Just the other day it was 85°F, and this morning I finally had to turn on my heat for the first time to take the chill out of the air, haha.

SoCal Stewart, the rim of the pot is narrower. Not much, but enough to make removing them very difficult. Once I remove the old soil, I'll see what I'm working with, and whether or not I'll have to break the ceramic pots in order to get them out of there.

Whenever you do eventually repot it, would you post some pictures if you can of the process? I'm curious to know what's going on under there. Seems like it grew pretty quickly in less that a year's time.

Sure thing. I'm curious myself. Now I gotta keep an eye out for some larger pots. Ones that are wide and don't curve inwards, lol. I want the caudices to grow nice and fat.

I didn't fertilize them all the much, just every now and then. But they did get bathed in direct sunlight from sunrise to sunset. No shade whatsoever.
