transplanting clems

Hi...I dug up 6 clems from a friends house to move to mine. They adapted fine to my potting and are growing very healthy now. I don' t plan on planting them until spring. I cut them back to dig them up and they are growing great now in pots. Is it ok to keep cutting them back until they go dormant and stop growing? thanks bob
