Can you put epoxy over the sealer that we already put down?

"Probably not" to the question about laying epoxy over a sealer. There are DOZENS of concrete finishes out there. The one thing I've learned about concrete and finishes is: they do NOT like each other. In fact, new concrete doesn't like old concrete. That's how touchy this stuff is.

If you want darker, strip it, grind it, surface it and then seal it again. Just like hardwood. And just like any other finish, there are things you have to do to concrete finishes to keep them happy and healthy.

Many need polishes, some need wax and others need buffing and resealing on a routine basis. Please look up your sealant and find out what is required for the maintenance. Most people think concrete flooring is maintenance free and bullet proof. Sadly they find out it can have HIGHER maintenance than Grandma's lino!

Personally I would simply put my area rugs down, organize my furniture and ignore it for a few years. When it starts getting beaten up (and ready for a redo) you can then rethink the colour scheme and do the grind, surface, reseal option then.
