Asking for written information does not obligate you to proceed with a Realtor; only an agreement does that. Agents need to demonstrate that they initiated an unbroken chain of circumstances that resulted in a deal. Does sending you a sheet about the house and not following though qualify? I don't think so.

MidCentury has it right, except that a legal relationship between a buyer and agent does not necessarily need a wriiten contract. Buyer agency can be implied through the consent of both parties significantly working with each other through a deal.

In your case you owe agents 1 and 2 nothing.
