It's hard to give good advise if we don't know the direction you want to head.

I would eliminate the chair rail - fine for a dining room where the wall needs to be protected from chairs banging it, but not needed here. Center the bed and add a focal headboard. If you're happy with the bedding, use it to find a color for the walls. I would prefer black out roman shades to the drapery.

Get rid of the chair rail. You need only one color on the wall. NOt 3 which includes the rail, above and below. Too much for bedroom.

All the trim would work better if it was white.

One quick note on the chair rail: we had a line of trim like that all throughout our old place. Removed a section and it was covering the gap between the two pieces of drywall, which had not been taped! So that trim might be functional, if your place is similar to ours. My advise would be to find the shortest section you can and have a peek underneath. If it's un-taped drywall, leave the rest of the trim on and paint out to match the wall.

If it is untaped drywall, call the drywall crew in to do a proper job.
