Face cream recommendation

I have very dry skin. I have used Eucerin Q10 for years. All of a sudden, it is just not working for me. The consistency seems to have changed and maybe they tweaked the formula.

For those with dry skin, what works for you? I am in despite need of a new moisturizing face cream.

I use coconut oil at night as a moisturizer. It's economical enough to give it a try.

Good luck... my skin tends to be oily but winters can dry it out so easily.

Thanks Lisa. I tried it as a night moisturizer. The smell of it makes me hungry!

I need something for after my shower in the morning.

I was already using CeraVe when I asked the dermatologist what she recommended and she said she uses CeraVe. Inexpensive and available at drugstores, Target, etc.. I get samples occasionally of pricey brands and they have a nicer texture and scent, but don't necessarily do a better job.

I also use CeraVe. I started using it because it has an SPF 30. It's reasonably thick so you have to rub it in a bit. I have to be careful not to get it in my eyes because it really hurts.

I use CeraVe. They have an AM cream with the SPF of 30 and a PM cream without the SPF. I use both.

My skin became extremely dry 6+ months ago. I've tried so many products, I can't even tell you! None were making a dent in my dryness. I recently purchased some Josie Maran argon oil products ("Milk" as well as the tinted sunscreen. I use the sunscreen under my Bare Mineral's foundation and I like the effect of them together very much.) as well as Skinceutical's triple lipid restore recommended by dermatologist's office. My skin is happy again! The Skinceutical's is pricey but if nothing else works you may want to look into it. Oh, the derm also recommended Neutrogena's Hydro Burst and gave me some samples but they didn't cut it.

Ive moved to oils at night. I use this on my face:

    https://us.caudalie.com/care-face/product/night-treatments/overnight-detox-oil.html

    And this under my eyes:

    https://us.caudalie.com/care-face/product/eye-lip-care/anti-wrinkle-eye-and-lip-cream.html

If my skin is extra dry I add their basic moisturizer on top.

During the day I wear this on my face:

    https://us.caudalie.com/care-face/product/serums/resveratrol-lift-firming-serum.html

    And this under my eyes:

    https://us.caudalie.com/care-face/product/eye-lip-care/resveratrol-lift-eye-lifting-balm.html

I got a free pot of resveratrol night cream that I'm playing with.

And I love their moisturizing mask:

    https://us.caudalie.com/care-face/product/masks-scrubs/moisturizing-mask.html

Finally, I cleanse with oil and make sure to exfoliate several times a week.

I have dry, sensitive skin with rosacea, and live in an area with dry, cold winters, and use Mario Badescu's Protein Night Cream during the day during the drier times of year. In the summer I use it at night.

I use either Caudalie or Orlane products. I like both, but prefer the Orlane. It is more expensive though, so I mix and match.

If the coconut oil worked well when you tried it, the refined version does not have a coconut smell or taste.

Another product I found to be very moisturizing is rose hip oil which is very inexpensive and can be found at Whole Foods and the like. Only a few dollars and worth a try.

Another to throw into the mix. I haven't tried it but keep seeing it mentioned on blogs. Good Sephora reviews. http://www.sephora.com/the-true-cream-aqua-bomb-P394639?keyword=BELIF%20The%20True%20Cream%20Aqua%20Bomb%20P394639&skuId=1686427&_requestid=109617

I use the Derma-e DMAE cream. No scent, and it's completely absorbed almost instantly. It's the only thing that has ever worked well for me.

I also use the Josie Maren Argon Oil. I use both the Milk version and the regular. I use Philosophy's Purity to clense my face. I switched to these about 3 months ago and can't believe the difference. I also use Josie Maren's Whipped Argon Oil on my arms and legs. No more flaky legs.

Pond's Dry Skin Cream. Forever and ever.

(you know how scents vary on different people? CeraVe smells like cigarette smoke to me when I wear it. )

Really? That's not good! And, if I don't smell it, my DH certainly will. He is extremely sensitive to aromas.

DH and I smell nothing with the Cerave. We use unscented in most everything and I am quite sensitive to smells.

It's weird, isn't it! I'm the same way with l'Air du Temps. I love it on my mom, but on me it smells like smoke. Most lotions I'm fine with, but not CeraVe. I'm disappointed because people have such good things to say about it. Oh well, I do like my Pond's.

It's true that we all have different body chemistries. I will look into Cerave and a few of the others.

Went into a shop with two friends. The shop sold chocolate-related items, including chocolate cologne. On one friend it smelled like Tollhouse cookies. On me, it smelled like brownies. And on the other friend, it smelled like vanilla!

Haha, but at least they were all nice aromas!

I am going to look for the cerave pm as I need a good moisturizer and it's nice to see several recommendations for a "drugstore" brand. I have been using the cerave eye cream based on suggestions here, and it's ok but not great. I think maybe I have more eye area issues that are beyond what overnight cream can handle. :(

I am also going to look again at the Mario Badescu line. I had used it a few years ago and really liked it.

As an aside, if you are ever in NY, their spa is wonderful and very reasonably price.

Side note about Caudalie. I found them a few years ago at Monoprix in France which is best described as the French Target. They are also available in most pharmacies.

The price difference is ridiculous. I think it's because we're programmed in the country to think "pay more, get better". For example, the Resveratrol I use cost $82 in the US and $42 Euro in France. Twice a year, they do a 20% off sale online, but I still stock up when I'm in Europe.

I've had great luck with First Aid Beauty products. They're cruelty free, which is a non-negotiable requirement for me. I'm currently using the 5-in-1 Face Cream with SPF.
