I love it, too! Especially the way the smashing makes framed 9 patches.

Super super job on this, Theresa! It's a great way of using up the smaller pieces of fabric, isn't it. It looks terrific! Do you plan to keep it?

Keep it? No. it has already gone with all the others I have done this year. These quilts are all made with Chemo patients in mind. My DH is part of Save the Children and they have an annual bazaar. So they have the quilts. They are not priced but folks are asked if they have someone in chemo, to take a quilt but make a donation to STC. I would be giving them away anyway but this way, the group makes a little extra.

Love that pattern it's such a great use for scraps. And good for you, how touching to give these away to those going through difficult times...

Love, love, LOVE this quilt, Theresa!!! I could sit down right now and start making that quilt -- but I'm a work, so that wouldn't do. Can you give the source of the pattern, please? I hope this brings in a large donation!

Thank you Teresa ( without the "h").

just Google Scrap Jar Stars and you will get a tutorial and then see what others have done with the pattern.

it did get rid of a lot of little bits and pieces but we all know about how they multiply overnight.

Beautiful day today so laundry on the line, including the quilt off my bed.

Teresa, This is the site I used for the Scrap Jar Stars: http://alittlebitbiased.blogspot.com/2012/01/scrap-jar-stars-tutoroial-giveaway.html

Theresa, Someone is going to get a lot of comfort and love with your gift. A great way to raise $$$ for a good cause.

    Gob smacked!

this quilt was one of the first ones taken at last week's bazaar by a woman.

And was given to her close friend, who is struggling with this dread disease.

My DH is coordinator of an adult learning centre. He came in today to say that the poetry class had finished and he had one poem to show me.

I read four lines and started to cry. The title was "Thank you Mrs. McRae" .

the poem went on to describe how she had presented the quilt, how they saw butterflies in the stars, how the flannel backing with millions of coloured stars warmed her while she drifted off to sleep.

There was more but it was so touching and heartfelt. We never really know how something we do, sometimes just as a way to keep busy, can impact others.

    I am truly humbled.

Theresa, Receiving a 'thank you' as you did is extra special and you are right about making an impact. Makes us all feel special when donating our quilts.
