The problem with any of the MG products for bearing citrus is that it lacks the Mg and Ca that are so important.

I've been adding epson salts or magnesium nitrate to the miracle gro solution. And I've gotten in the habit of adding a handful of gypsum to every 5 gal container when I make up some potting soil. Hopefully that will bring the miracle gro up to par. But what about the difference between MirAcid and Miracle Gro and if adding vinegar to the Miracle Gro will bridge the gap?

I really like Jack's Classic Acid Special 17-6-6. I initially bought it for my blueberry plants but tried it this summer when I realized my well water is a little on the basic side. My trees did much better on the JCAS than Foliage Pro. I have two Satsumas, a Meyer's Lemon, and some random lemon in 511 and my trees seemed to do really well this summer. Looks like you can get large sizes, based on a cursory check on Amazon.

I'm glad to hear that some Jack's fertilizers are available on Amazon. For some reason the Jack's Citrus fertilizer is twice the price of the Jack's Classic Acid Special. The Classic Acid Special has almost 3x the amount of Sulfur and twice the amount of iron as the Citrus fertilizer, but no magnesium. The Jack's Citrus fertilizer has 3% nitrate nitrogen, so probably not good for blueberries. The Miracid doesn't have any Sulfur, so it must get it's acidity from it's high percentage of urea nitrogen. The JCAS costs about 50% more than the Miracid in the 1.5 lb size. I think I'll give the JCAS a try with my blueberries and citrus, but continue to add magnesium when I use it on my citrus. Thanks for the idea.

Johnmerr, do you think gypsum is a good source of calcium for my container citrus?
