Finally some finishes

First is a baby quilt made for one of my DH employees, their first....

Then much to my surprise, my niece ask for a fall quilt in gray, cream and orange...I think of fall in the colors of fruit loop cereal, but did my best to stick with her main color requests with my stash.

I used Moda's grunge for the background, it had lots of gray splashes, I think it worked with the batiks. I FMQ a simple leaf motif to keep with the fall theme. It ain't perfect, but I'm pleased with FMQ.

So happy these are done...now on to the next project!

Valarie, those are both great quilts. I really like the idea of the small stars superimposed upon the larger star. And I love the fall quilt. Beautiful colors. Any chance you could post a closeup of your quilting?

I love them both - especially the grey & batik one. The splashes of bright orange are truly eye-catching.

Love the fabric in the star...the owls in the forest. The second one looks like granite, very cool.

Beautiful quilts, Val, both of them! Love the brightness of the star and the unique color combinations of the fall quilt. I could even get to like orange in a quilt like that one!

Those are great, Valarie! I like the color layout in the star quilt......nicely done! And the fall quilt, too.........you brought the colors together beautifully. (yeah, sometimes those kids surprise us.)
