Top only.

yesterday

This is the top of that special quilt I was making for a neighbour.

Back story. The wife is always ’put together’ so well, that I wanted the quilt to echo that.

I found the black print in my black bin. I have no recollection of buying it and it had a Joann selvedge, but I thought it would be just right.

Now the lighter fabric is a Robert Kaufman Fusions. I liked the line so much that a few years ago, I bought many many yards in all the colours. So for this pattern, I needed more than a yard and the one I saw as the ’perfect’ match only had a yard.

Which is why it got put on the back burner while I tried to solve the problem. I did many Google searches and a site from Texas came up with what looked to be exactly the right match. Mr. Peabody’s closet, I think.

Anyway, the parcel came and the fabric is one shade off from what I had. So, the large squares are my original fabric and the stripe is the newer one. They never touch and you would have to have an eagle eye to tell the difference.

The pattern is the one I did earlier in white and turquoise.

The backing fabric just arrived this morning, so after a doctor visit this afternoon, we may just get going on that. It is the same shade as the light but a different design. it will work.

Long story, more than you wanted to know!

Theresa

My knees wouldn’t let me get down and smooth it out.
