So-so pix, I tried this wknd, but here goes.

Very hard to capture this.

The first time I saw one of these a couple of weeks ago I thought it was a stray thread & tried to pull it. (I quilt & sew, so lose threads in my home are nothing new, just not usually in the plants.)

Oh, that photographed better than I thought ... hum

Am having trouble attaching more pix, will try it in several submissions.

I'll try another couple of shots.

Another, broadening out some. I've got 2 different pots doing this.

Isn't this weird? So bizarre. I've got a 3rd pot of these same type of leaves, but they don't show new growth yet.

I welcome thoughts & ideas, guess they'll just grow tall & skinny as their parent leaves, right?

when a new leaf grows, the first part to be seen is the tip of the leaf and it's very thin. After some days/weeks, the "body" of the leaf will emerge and it will be thicker.

If your plant hasn't grown for some time, it can also create a new stack of leaves, with the first two or three ones being tiny and finally new normal sized leaves. I saw this on some of the Sans. I receveid by mail, after a month or so in a parcel. Growing was completely stopped and the plant "rebooted" this way.

Barb and Savant Fou is right. The very top of the leaf at times has a very long needle like growth almost like the spine of an agave leaf, only not as sharp.

Notice the larger center leaf has a very long tip. Most of the time these tips far off due to drying conditions over the years.

Good eyes Karen to notice this fantastic growth forming on your plant.

I agree with everyone, it seems to be an emerging leaf.

The leaf that was widening continues to so do, so thanks. Maybe I'll share an update after a while.
