Monstera or Philodendron?

Hoping someone can assist me in determining the correct genus/species of this plant. Cuttings are being offered on eBay as "variegated Monstera deliciosa", but at a glance it appears to be very similar in appearance to the variegated heart leaf Philodendron which is commonly offered in the nursery trade as a houseplant. Is it possible to positively ID this plant from these photos? If so, could you please provide me with specific characteristics that can be noted to differentiate the two? After inquiring with the seller, I was told that the typical leaf-cuts/holes are not visible on young Monstera plants (yet the variegation is?). While that may be true, I'm also aware that there are many unethical sellers on eBay who attempt to pass off common plants in place of rarer, more expensive species and I don't want to be scammed. I also found statements on this site suggesting that true Monstera plants can not easily be grown from cuttings giving me further cause for concern. HELP!! Thanks for your input!
