I was fertilizing it every time I watered it. So once a week. I've recently cut back on that. Was it too much?

It is alive and it is of a healthy green color, so it is not dying. As Aegis pointed - it has suckers - so it is growing and putting the vegetative mass out - it will catch up and bloom.

I saw you just posted a question on growing miniature rose as a house plant. I tell you - roses are outside plants, they need full sun. To keep it through winter for planting outside - you can manage it if you keep it on a sunny window. But you do better if you purchase a miniature rose to be shipped to you in spring in a time for planting. http://www.heirloomroses.com/roses/miniature-roses.html

The blooming miniature rose you want to purchase now - is grown to be enjoyed and discarded. You can keep it alive till spring - but it will be a very weak plant comes time to take it out.

You should be able to fertilize AT HALF STRENGTH every time you water.

Hold off, though, for a few months if you're using a pre-fertilized soil mix.

Your plant, however, doesn't look like it's suffering from any fertilization problems ...

Very pretty plant! I agree with the cycling in and out of bloom. Nothing blooms non stop.
