Jenn-Air vs Kitchenaid Induction range?

I'm planning to buy an induction slide in range next week. Based on features and price, I think Kitchenaid or Jenn-Air are my best bets. I would get the Jenn-Air with the professional handle. Aesthetically and practically (as a mother of young children with sticky fingers) I'm hung up on the chrome detail on the sides of the Kitchenaid window. I'm also hung up on spending several hundred dollars more for the Jenn-Air. Is it with the extra cost? Which would you buy? Most people here seem to have bought the Kitchenaid, and I'd be curious to hear from anyone who opted for the Jenn-Air.

Softpunk, we just took delivery of our Jenn-Air induction. I too was torn between the Kitchenaid and the JA. However, my previous electric range was a JennAir as well (18 yrs) and as I've been happy with the brand I ultimately decided to pay the extra cash and stick with what I know. I've been lurking and following all the Induction threads for years but just couldn't commit to the Bosch, Miele and Viking pricier models ( tiny ovens). I will say that so far ( less than a week!) I love it. It's responsive and everything I'd hoped Induction would be and it's sooo pretty

JA also giving full set of Induction cookware as rebate. I have been purchasing Induction capable pieces over the last several years so I'm able to use my stovetop currently. (This has been a long shopping process). Good luck with your purchase

FYI I also replaced my KA refrigerator with KA's new 5 door/ drawer model. Again, brand loyalty as my Kitchenaid 26 cu foot SxS has been bullet proof for 18 years. I found it very difficult to find the features I was looking for until I saw this beauty. PC RIchards was having great sales!!

emmie2, how has your Jenn-aire held up over the first 6 weeks of ownership? I am looking at that same model too.

So far so good! She's been getting a lot of use. Oven temp is spot on using independent thermometer to double check. The fan ( when in convection mode) is whisper soft. I actually thought it wasn't working when I first tried using it. I've used the baking drawer as well. I'm having fun using the cooktop too. There definitely is a learning curve with induction but I am getting the hang of it. ( I may have over boiled a pot or two.). Very happy with my decision for both the Jenn Air range and for my Kitchenaid refrigerator.

Thanks for the progress/status report. I research and shop and still have a difficult time making a final decision!

I am having the same issue. Kitchen Aid and Jenn Air are both made by Whirlpool. the total oven size is 7.1. The differences. Kitchen Aid has a wireless probe (of course you can buy that, so that does not matter to me), two oven lights as opposed to 1 in the Jenn Air, the induction eyes are the same with one exception. The left front and back on the Kitchen Aid are both 2500W, the Jenn Air is 2350W. Both are a bridge. When you look into the ovens the convection design appears a little different. The Kitchen Aid has a steam reservoir on one of the racks. Then there are the handles. Kitchen Aid has one choice, pro chef type. Jenn Air has two choices, pro chef type and a European type that is curved. Why did they produce these units that are almost identical? Why a 150W difference on the left rear eye? Now, why is the Jenn Air $300 more?
