My pendant light fixture has the option of 50 watt halogen or 8 watt 500 lumen 80 CRI 3000K.

Are either of these bright enough for task lighting? Is one better than the other?

There will be 2 fixtures over the island, and while there is plenty of natural light in the room, plus a 6 light chandelier and inspiredLED under cabinet, I do like it bright when working.
