Opp!, correction. This is Cajun's Queen Lace, not Sugar.

Cajun's Queen's Lace is variable. And very unruly. And very floppy with large wavy leaves and long petioles. Yours seems all that - but you got a super floriferous clone. It is on a paler side - but who cares.

Not a good Show plant - but looks like it gives you loads of blooms and keeps you happy!

This recent bloom is pale, the last large one had more color. I am sure if I kept it de-budded I could improve the foliage somewhat. Even in it's "resting" period there are one or two bloomstalks up at all times. I think after these flowers start to die I will re-pot and keep it de-budded for a while. I'm afraid it is going to bloom itself into an early death if it keeps this up.

I love the frilled flowers too, especially when they open up instead of staying in a ball.

It is a large strong plant. But the foliage gives me willies.

Lets agree to disagree. For me - this kind of foliage is just wrong. There is a reason for symmetry - optimal use of the sun rays. The original species - Saintpaulia ionantha - is symmetrical. I am not talking about the best in Show symmetry.... just in general.

This is a show quality large plant I swiped from the Net. I think it is a plant grown by the hybridizer Belinda Tibodeaux.

Pretty. Mine was darker, but never as dark as that.

Yes, the net picture is a lot closer to my version. Well, I'll just have to work on the foliage then.

So - first I can say - mine is too dark, MissTee blossoms are way too light.

Second - it is possible to grow this challenging plant symmetrically. But - looking at my young plant and MIssTee mature plant - I can say - it is very very tricky.

Third - no matter how much we say - that we do not care about if it is a show plant, or it not, well grown rosette is important. The last plant is a stunner. Other plants - both mine and MissTee - are not.

I can see that to grow it this way - it needs to be on the support ring all the time, it needs to be disbudded for several months and the leaves carefully tended and moved all this time. It is not going to grow itself but It can be done. Do I want to do it... probably not. Too lazy.
