We're building a house and making final decisions in the kitchen. I like the white counter top look but we can't afford the marbled looks. Builder standard is offering us "Linen" (which I initially chose. It's almost pure white with some grains) or "White Sands" (which is off white with more very visible grains). The granite/quartz lady was talking me out of Linen because it showed more pan streaking, newspaper dirt, etc. Basically hard to keep clean. I have two daughters who are fairly responsible and clean and I'm not worried about staining. My husband prefers the grain look but I feel like it's too rustic for my taste. Our cabinets are a dark wood stain like espresso. The rest of our house is very white and gray. Back splash will be white glazed subway. Any thoughts?
