Help with my Floor Plan Layout

Hello fellow Houzzers! Hope you can offer me some of your decorating insight. I have a new vacation property in Florida, and I am looking for some help in how to set up my living room.

Room will be used for both entertaining and relaxing (with TV). I am considering adding an electric wall-mount contemporary fireplace with surround/mantel etc. to serve as a focal point, as I don't want the TV to be the focal point. Room has very high vaulted ceilings so can accommodate a floor-to-ceiling fireplace surround, if I go that direction.

Will have my young grandchildren visiting so need some activity/play space to accommodate them when they're there. I want to decorate in coastal colors, but definitely don't want it too coastal kitschy. btw, the flooring throughout main living areas is a subtle taupe-cream floor tile laid on the diagonal. Paint is currently taupe to match floor tile, but am very willing to change paint to a lighter tone to make it more airy and bright.

Would welcome your ideas on what type of furniture layout would you think would best accommodate my needs and the room? Which wall will be the best to place the focal point? (It's my feeling that the longest wall is best, since that's where your eye goes when you enter the room from the dining room hallway).

Thanks so much!

B
