    Looks like concrete to me. Anyone else have an opinion? Lovin' how the wood warms it all up. Great job!

    Yes it sure does look like concrete ... from this image, however the photos in this project are keyworded with stone countertop and slab countertop. More telling that this is likely stone is to take a peak of a photo around the corner and you'll see some veins:

    Oh, you are an excellent investigator! And it does look different in the bigger picture. What kind of stone do you think this is? It's gorgeous, and thinking it comes from Hawaii makes it even better!

    Hi decocco, loved this kitchen too and also thought the countertops might be concrete, but apparently they are soapstone.......taken from the site;
    Unique Design Elements:

    Distinctively shaped countertop and leg support design
    Mirrored walls to capture the ocean view and enhance the spacious feel
    Warm-toned teak flooring throughout the home
    Bi-folding upper cabinets to maximize accessibility to upper storage
    Soapstone backsplashes and countertops

    Love soapstone... but it can scratch easily so be wary if you really use your kitchen actively or have kiddos that might cut on the counter directly...etc.
