Don't paint a bathroom green or yellow (it does weird things to your skintone when you're trying to put on makeup.) Do paint a kitchen green or yellow (I'm partial to yellow kitchens because they're so cheery, but you've got to be sure it doesn't have a green tint). Go to the paint store and get four chips of each color you like. Tape one of each onto each of four walls in a room. The light movement trough the day will make the colors look different. This is a good way to narrow down the colors. Don't be afraid to get colors you wouldn't normally pick. We had to rebuild after our house burned, and DH said I could not paint every room a different color (as much as I would like to). So I painted the formal living room ice blue with white trim; the kitchen/family room is torchlight yellow with pecan stain (to go with mahogany laminate and maple kitchen cabinets); the hall and bedrooms are a calm blue with white trim; the bathrooms are eggshell with white trim. We've been here since Jan 2009 and I'm still happy with the colors. Don't paint anything until you figure out your furnishings and window treatments. Paint should be the last thing. Greenery! Small potted plants - herbs in the kitchen, a fern in the bathroom - bring in a splash of color and some vibrancy.

Looks beautiful! As a new homeowner myself my advice would be to live in it for a little while before you paint. Font rush to paint everything at once (especially since it looks so beautiful already). Also I would recommend you focus on one room per discussion on here. Good luck!

When I have trouble bringing color into a room / home, I start with a piece of art I like (and plan to hang in the room) and I select colors from the artwork. It really works well! Good luck.
