Final Bedroom Touches

I have a room that is a variation of gray, silver, gold, and cream. I need help deciding on bedside tables, lamps, and wall decor on the bed wall. I am slightly contemporary/transitional (no round legged furniture desired). Pillows look purple, but camera is off. Bed and bedding stays. Please help!

You might want to reconsider the starburst above the bed. It looks dull. A gold would be a better choice but a mirror with "points" above the bed, is not usually the best idea. You have a nice color palette mixing warm creams and cool purples and grays. First, paint the vent above bed same color as wall. If you want sometime over headboard, I would choose 3-4 small prints that pick up the favorite color you want to emphasize. Could you post more photos of the room. The location of the bed might work better on another wall? If not, move the bed closer to corner wall to make more room for side of bed nearest entry to room. You could put a small round table on the wall side just for a book or cup of coffee. This would also give your main night stand more space which it needs. The lamp shade is too large for the night stand and might not be quite tall enough. How high is it? I like the base of the lamp, perhaps you could replace shade with a smaller size (round) and that would help it fit the spot better. Gold on anything over the bed would be good, because it would repeat the gold of the base of the lamp. I like to repeat favorite colors 3 times in a room. It helps bring everything together. So, might want to relocate bed, use gold for items above bed, see if we could use more purple in spots for color.

Thank you. Starburst is definitely going). Lamp is just a mock up (it's really a vase with a lampshade plopped on it). And only one more wall available and it has windows that make it awkward. I'm leaning towards an almost monochromatic theme and would like an airy space. Would really like examples for what I could do starting especially with nightstands and lamp. I do not like mismatched night tables...smile.

Does this help visually? 40 inches on left and 45 on right for nightstands.

Yes that helps a good bit. Ok, I can give you many ideas. I'll post some.

Can you measure from floor to the top of your mattress. That is the height of the night stands you need. It looks fairly low?

How do you feel about mirrored pieces? This is an example, but pricey. But just for "concept"? The mirrored surface would help bring light and keep your monochromatic look going.

The mirrored one is 29" high but compact which would work well. Might be too high.

    About 28 inches

A tall, crystal-like lamp with the gray shade would work well. And this is very reasonably priced.

A mirror like this hung behind lamp on each side of bed would bring sparkle and light and yet keep the color pallet like and bright.

that is a set of 3 mirrors so you could put 2 on one side and one on the wall side of bed. You don't have to do everything symmetrically. Although, you might think that way. Since you don't see the headboard when you come into the room, this makes the asymmetrical style more viable.

OK, with 29" high mattress either of the ones I posted would work. I have to double check the width of the one from Rooms to Go. I really like that one for you. Do you like it?

Got it. The Driskill Place Silver Nightstand is 30" high, which works perfectly, it is 31" wide which is great, gives you some space on sides, and 18"deep which is very good. So, I think this is a very good option. From Rooms to Go and you might be able to check their "outlet" on line store for a even better deal, might have some damage though. We should select the night stands first then go to lamps. How high off the floor is your headboard. That will affect how high lamps can go.

Hmm...My bed is about 52 inches high. Let me look at that nightstand. I saw it on a picture earlier today.

The silver mirrored nightstand is super cute!

With a 30" high nightstand, you can do a 28" high lamp. Or lower. I would say between 26" and 28". Also, depends on the width of the night stand you select.

A large picture, something like this would be super on the wall to the right of the bed as you face the headboard. I would like that better than small prints above the headboard. This picture also has the "gold leaf" detail texture.

I took a closer peek at the driskill and I like it and the dimensions. They don't deliver to my zip code..........what a bummer! I do like mirrored nightstands. My budget was about $300 each max. I like the other mirrors to go behind it also, but I think I need to narrow down the nightstand. The other nightstand was pretty also, just more compact than I wanted and definitely more expensive. Here is my visual from my bed...that uttermost art (or something similar) would preferably be on this wall, correct?

OK, that is very helpful information. I will look some more tomorrow. There is so much material out there, that having some additional info like this really helps because it narrows down the products and focuses us more. Thanks! Check back tomorrow afternoon.

Hi - I was reading this thread - great ideas everyone has given you! About the mirrored nightstands - If that one company does not deliver to you - Check out Pier One and SteinMart - I've seen reasonably priced ones at both stores recently . Good luck - It will look great! : )

I have seen most of these, the one I definitely would not get is the ZGallerie one, it is cheap and quality is terrible. The one I think fits your space best is the Lisa - Erion collection. Good size, 26h x 25w x 16d. Which I think fits your space nicely. I like the finish I think. Hard to tell by these photos. Price is right for sure. That is my assessment of those choices. Great shopping! I also think the mirrored look is on its way back out again. But still an option if you can get good enough quality.

Do they have to be closed nightstands with drawers? What about a metal tiered end table

Then perhaps metal with a single drawer. I'll see if I can find some

Just joining the convo. A couple of observations, one, I love your aesthetics. This is a beautiful room in the making. I read through the previous comments but I didn't find a reason why the bed isn't centered on that wall. I would suggest centering the bed. The other thing is the mirror, between the bed and chair, doesn't seem to be in a good spot. It's not directly over or near one thing, so it's just hanging out on it's own, not connected. I would move it closer over the chair.

Okay, so we are looking for 28" high mirrored nightstand that deliver to where? Canada?

Love your bedroom! Still think the sunburst is an option for your living room!

You'll achieve more restful, secure sleep if you move the bed to the wall where you're considering placing the mirror. Unless you can move it in front of the window, putting you directly opposite the entry (proven to be optimal for placement) that's the best location for you to get a direct view to the entrance of the room. You might try a trio of smaller items above the headboard.

Hey there!! I thought about you just last week. I opened a new thread for this room very recently. I moved all of this decor to my guest bedroom. ;-)
