Pet "gifts"?

We have a few beds for our Golden, including one from Orvis or LLBean that is ergonomically correct or something.

Her favorite bed though, is one I got from an Etsy seller who now has a website. She makes really cute beds that do not look awful with your decor. They even have contrasting piping. We have had ours for 3 years and it holds up well; the cover is easily removed to wash. She makes really nice collars, too.

Here is the site. Look under Pets and then "fabric swatches" to see all the choices for custom beds.

PS Thanks to the people who recommended adding veggies to dogfood. She loves green beans!

Perfect timing, mtn! I have been considering ordering a sheepskin rug for our old girl, but then, I would need two since her son would feel left out, I am afraid. Maybe two beds instead! Thanks!

    ETA-which filling did you get?

For those in colder climates with cats, these heated cat beds were big hits last Christmas, and mine have not lost interest this year.

Yesterday Billie got an early Christmas present- a plush throw with decorated with dog biscuits, dog bones, paw prints and fire hydrants (she's a girl with a boy's name). She always hogs the soft throws so now she has one of her own! We always add veggies and Greek yogurt to Billie's Taste of the Wild (boar) food. She enjoys fruits too-we share an apple and cheese plate frequently. Sue your dog looks so comfy. Off to check off Etsy!

I got my dog a memory foam dog bed with the PB fur cover last year. She loved my fur throw and she loves the bed. But now she has a puppy sister, so another bed may be required! Those are really cute and I love the fabric choices.

Sas, our Scoot would love that heated bed! When he was a kitten, he'd always sit by the heat vent or on the laptop, so DH, who's pretty smitten with our kitten, walked downtown in a snowstorm to buy him a heating pad.

Here he is in his heated bed.

I got this for my doggies a couple of seasons ago. I just place over their beds and remove in spring. they like it. My kitty gets really fluffy in the cold season and tht seems to be enough as he couldn't care less for heated pads.

mayflowers, we have a tuxedo cat named Burrito who insists on living in the garage. He's quite elderly now so we fixed up a heating pad bed for him out there. He can't jump up on to the workbenches where he used to have a bed, so it now sits on the concrete floor and he just adores it. Can't get him to come inside, the stubborn guy.

Cyn, When i bought the first one they old had poly fill. Since that is what she likes, I am sticking with that.

Thanks! Her recommendation is enough for our two. ;)

    LOL.

Can I throw in another pet gift idea that I got for my sister? She loves to take her cute pups on trips so I couldn't resist. They come in a variety of colors and you can have the dogs name added to it. They're sold on Etsy, the shops name is DogTravel.

They also come in a variety of colors.

Those are so cute! Our dog uses some random conference Tote Bag; what was I thinking!

I just just gave my dog a new collar today. She sleeps in one of those covered heated cat beds above. We call it the hot bed. It's the only way we can keep her out of our bed.

This is our doggy bed. It's also an illustration of what happens if a human isn't around to lift the covers and they have to try to burrow under on their own.

I also just recently ordered this (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q6QNMQQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) for M because she likes to sit on a bed sometimes in the living room. She seems to enjoy it and it looks nice (IMO).

Oh my gosh beagles, that is too funny, don't they suffocate? We have the cat size of that bed that you linked to and the fat cat loves it. I think because the sides spread to accommodate him whereas it's too big for the small cat.

"He can't jump up on to the workbenches". When my old cat couldn't jump up to her favorite places, I just used 2x4's or 2x6's to make little ramps for her....just an idea.

I love those Etsy custom dog beds Mtn. I just wish someone would make a shape called 'sprawl' since that's what our big lab does. He's never actually all-on a dog bed. Some piece of him, usually half his body, is almost always off any dog bed no matter what size it is. And those totes, lukki! Adorable!

What great dog beds - I like the fabric selection. My cats all have heated beds this time of year which they enjoy, plus it helps keep them off the furniture. I wish I could find covers for those beds, as they never look as good once they are washed, not to mention they are a bear to put back together.

Outsideplaying, one of our dog beds is a crib mattress. It's long enough that our dog can sprawl on it. (Yes, I also have the mattress cover and sheet. Baby blue.)

Oh! You mean like this? HA! This bed takes up half of the living room and she still manages to fall off!

My dogs don't seem to care too much for dog beds…

Wow, that last pick belongs in the dog shaming posts! Our dog would never splay herself wantonly like that! Geez Louise.

    Ours would.

    Whoa!!! LOL. that's hilarious!

Lukkiirish - our fat cat sleeps like your dog does and that's because most cat boxes are too small for him.

We first bought one of these beds for our elderly choc Lab. She was an outside dog. She needed off the ground and a bed that "breathed". They're by Coolaroo and come in different sizes. Water drains thru them, they're insect repellent, hold their shape and cool in the summer. Just hose off to clean if it needs it. You can buy replacement pads. We now have two. One inside and one outside for Howie. Will never use a different dog bed! Now that it's cold (finally) I spread his soft throw over the bed since the cot fabric is breathable. At night I put another one over him.

Ha! I bet he hogs the sofa and bed like our dog does too!

I love all the pup pictures. Phoebe sleeps on her back too.

Why keep it in the home?

We also have a bed problem.

Lukkiirish, that's exactly what I'm talking about, although we've told him to get on his bed and had him do what Robo's dog does too. He'll have maybe a toe or a tail on it. Monica, we tried one of those too. He got on it a couple of times and would have nothing to do with it. He prefers the expensive wool rugs or just the hardwood floor. No matter what the season. We even have 2 extra large pads/beds put together on top of the rug and still he will lie down in front of the whole shebang.

Our dog still sometimes hangs her head over the side, but she usually uses it "correctly". Maybe the other positions are yoga stretches.

Oh robo - LOL, your dog really has no shame!

Yes, our fat cat jumps up on the bed during the night and then wakes me up by throwing himself onto me and then stretches out and starts to snore.

    Right beside a padded mat

I think our dog runs a little hot and will often choose to lie on cool tile.

That's so funny! Have you tried layering it with catnip?

Ellie knew her bed was for her as we took it out of the car and was on it as soon as it hit the floor with a look that said, "Mine!". She uses it alot which is great. However, in addition the space her bed takes up, she's also claimed a specific corner of our sofa. And if her blanket isn't spread out over it ready for her to lay on, I get the evil eye. Then, sometimes, only a pair of slippers will do and it's always right in front of where I'm sitting so I can't get up! (She does make for a good footwarmer though! Ha!

Nothing makes my day like seeing all these loved furbabies! I wish every cat and dog was treated like a royal GWer.

Dear "Auntie" (my sister) sent this for our kitties. :)

This very fuzzy Brittany is at the groomer as we speak, but he is also a a back sleeper, as is his sister Ginger, and brother Riley.

But when I moved their beds to vacuum, I must have found the sweet spot.

Well...my sister didn't remember me telling her that an Etsy package was on it's way as part of her Christmas gift and she opened it!!! The bag is a huge success, she said it's adorable in person and really well made. The colors even match the play pen and accessories she has for her spoiled two, Annie (l) and Sally (R) in their car seat and stroller.

K and H pet products make excellent pet beds and products including heated beds . I have this one for my little dog , they list it as a cat bed but it's perfect for Mia . Their pod beds are so cute .

Raven, those are the cat beds I buy, however I get them on amazon for significantly less. I also buy their heated pads for an outdoor cat house that I keep in our garage for one of our cats who likes to be out there at times, and we also have one in an Ikea Expedit cubby unit in my sewing room.

I have had several and they last forever. Very nice quality products. When it's chilly here, like now, I know where to find Mia. And they do not get too hot like some heating pads.

Ours are K&H, too. They are really great.

I use K&H heaters in the feral cat houses. This is the 6th year they will be on all winter and work like champs.
