Palm tree getting to large

Hello,

The last owner of the house we bought planted a palm in a small yard 8 ft from the house. is there a way to stop it from growing any larger its about 15ft now. the only other option would be to remove the tree which I would rather not do if possible. I think its a Pritchardia palm but really i have no clue.

You might be able to "bonsai" it by cutting the roots in a circle around the tree...but that might just kill the tree.

looks like it's a single-trunk palm. you could just wait until it grows tall enough that it's above the roof and out of your way.

Or,dig it up and put it in a very large pot set on the ground. It sooner or later will root in,and yet grow much slower in height.
